Schroeder Murchie Niemiec Gazda-Auskalnis Architects was commissioned by the Chicago Park District and the Public Building Commission of Chicago to develop a prototype design for new field houses to be constructed around the city.
The solution was to create a design based on a kit of parts concept that will enable the basic design to be adapted for use on many different sites in any Chicago neighborhood.
The design includes numerous energy saving features as well as highly durable materials to minimize energy use and to reduce maintenance costs.
