This 3000 SF residential building in Chicago's Old Town neighborhood has been renovated using new and recycled materials. The architects preserved a bohemian 1930's work of a collaboration of artists such as Edgar Miller and Sal Kogan while upgrading kitchens, electrical and plumbing. The work is characterized as a tapestry of mosaic and wood carved surfaces, bold and secretive spaces. There are two horizontal units at grade level and 2 duplexes on the second and third levels. A 500 SF roof addition, in the same style, provided decks and master suites for the two duplex units.
