The design of six homes in three duplex structures in Lakeside, Michigan compliments the village character of this small community in Michigan. The site plan allows for the existing triangular green and 100 year old trees to be preserved as part of an easement dedicated to perpetual community access area use.
The exterior of the structures emulate late 19th and early 20th century houses along Pier Road. Low scale massing with dormers, front porches and overhanging eaves contribute to the aesthetic. The interiors are designed as open plan spaces with cathedral ceilings in all bedrooms. Basement level and garages are out-of-view at the rear of the structures at basement level.
