SMNG-A was engaged by the Public Building Commission of Chicago to take control of a stalled project. Our mission was to develop a new design that was appealing to residents and community leaders and to meet previously established program goals. Although the project had been delayed for more than 12 months by disagreements over the design, SMNG-A was quickly able to develop a new design that immediately won community approval and enabled construction to begin within six months. The project was completed on schedule and within the budget.
The new addition provides expanded and improved facilities on a very constricted site. Included in the two story addition are additional classrooms, a computer lab, library, media center, art center, gymnasium, and a full service kitchen and cafeteria, and administrative center.
