Prairie Place Residences is a 13 unit condominium project near the Central Avenue and Green Bay Road retail district in Evanston. This building will expand the retail and multi-family uses typically present along the Central Avenue mixed-use corridor.
The street facade incorporates a family of materials similar to those present on the existing adjacent south building, including carrying through the cornice line and horizontal detailing. This creates a seamless visual transition between the existing street elevation fabric and new construction.
The fourth story is stepped back from the street line to recognize the scale of the residential building context to the north. Balconies and terraces enrich the unit mix and add much-desired outdoor space. Parking is located on the ground floor and is buffered from the street by retail spaces located adjacent to the public sidewalk.
