This small clinic for a podiatrist in a northwest Chicago suburb was designed as intersecting glass and masonry volumes that define the building entry and the physician’s private office. The structure is intended to be identifiable and visually appealing from a fast multi-lane road on which it is situated. Particular emphasis was placed on the landscaping and massing of the building in order to reinforce its identity in an environment cluttered with buildings, signs, and traffic.
