When completed, Ping Tom Memorial Park will be one of the largest neighborhood parks in the City of Chicago. This second, more ambitious phase of a two phase development is intended to complement the programmatically, more contemplative and culturally oriented first phase.

Among the recreational facilities planned for Phase II is a large multi-purpose field house, a natatorium, community meeting spaces and a river access for sculling and kayaking. In a collaborative effort, master-planning and landscape architecture were provided by Site Design Group and boathouse was provided by Schroeder Murchie Niemiec Gazda-Auskalnis Architects in addition to programming, planning and design of the new fieldhouse.
