This entry into the Chicago Architecture Biennial Competition explored the notion of a children's block set (KAPLA) and interest in the "readymade." The slat blocks provide the opportunity to explore hinged planes rotated out from a slat wall. A standard 8' x 8' x 20' shipping container initially used for conveying the assembly to the site, also provides opportunities for decoration and intervention.

Different configurations of the laminated timber and stainless steel components offer seasonal program opportunities including athletic bathing equipment rental, concessions, and retail uses. This kiosk also offers the opportunity to be easily demounted, packed, and relocated with a small truck.
