The remains of the former structure, along with the new interventions, were allowed to read within the rich context of the neighborhood, site and building details. Covered walkways, balconies and overlooks were added to this ensemble to weave all levels and parts of the complex together.
SPICE FACTORY
MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL/ADAPTIVE USE
Mandeville Wharf Lofts was built within the ruin of three buildings that formerly housed Chef Paul Prudhomme’s “Cajun Magic” spice warehouse in New Orleans, Louisiana. The project’s design approach employed selective subtractions and additions to the existing building.
